What is Reflux?

If you have persistent or longstanding, frequently recurring symptoms even after treatment with this medicine, you should contact your doctor. Taking this medicine • You can take your tablet at any time of the day either with food or on an empty stomach. • Swallow your tablet whole with half a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. This is because the tablet contains coated pellets, which stop the medicine from being broken down by the acid in your stomach. It is important not to damage the pellets.
Alternative method of taking this medicine• Put the tablet in a glass of still (non-fizzy) water. Do not use any other liquids. • Stir until the tablet breaks up (the mixture will not be clear) then drink the mixture straight away or within 30 minutes. Always stir the mixture just before drinking it. • To make sure that you have drunk all of the medicine, rinse the glass very well with half a glass of water and drink it. The solid pieces contain the medicine – do not chew or crush them

How to take Nexium Control
If you are taking Nexium Control begin at a low dose and slowly increasing it (2-3 mmol) do not exceed it (this should not be exceeded if you have reflux at any time during the day or anticipated approaching daytime).
You should be able to use this product if you are 18 years or older, have heart disease or if you have high blood pressure. It is not known if your symptoms will last for life, other products are not recommended.Do not use this product if you are allergic to esomeprazole, any proton pump inhibitor, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Do not use this product if you are taking digoxin.
Do not give to children under 18 years of age unless directed by your physician.
Do not take Nexium (esomeprazole) if you are allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor medicines (e.g., esomeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).If you are a pregnant, nursing, or who has ever had an intact fallopian tube, or if you have ever had an underdevelopment of the tube, a woman should not handle this product with her hands. Pregnant women should not touch the contents of esomeprazole, as they may have serious side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, jaundice or liver damage.
Do not use this product if you are of reproductive age and have not yet reached the reproductive years. Do not use if you are breastfeeding.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following, and your symptoms worsen: pain, swelling, redness, blistering, peeling, redness, fever, persistent soreness of a painful area such as the back of your neck or buttocks, headache, or nausea.
Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.

Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not get better or if they become worse.
Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur. If any of the unpleasant symptoms of drowsiness may persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Do not use this product until you have talked to your doctor.

In the event of a serious allergic reaction to this medicine, seek immediate medical assistance. If symptoms persist, talk to your doctor.
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Nexium (esomeprazole) only for use in women who are pregnant, are allergic to esomeprazole, pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
The FDA has also approved other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for use in women who are not pregnant. Nexium is also approved for the treatment of certain types of cancer in women who have endometrial and breast cancer, and for the treatment of stomach cancer.
Talk to your doctor before taking esomeprazole if you are of poor blood pressure control, have high blood pressure, are at risk of low birth weight and are overweight.
